Hey friends, we wanted to check in with you and let y’all know how we’re managing these days. Our team of exceptional folks are working (remotely) to keep bringing you great books.
That being said, we’re all trying to weather this weird and challenging time together. As is likely the case in your circles, it’s different for everyone. Here are a couple little updates from us, in this moment:
Fulfillment + Shipping
We work with some extremely wonderful small businesses to print, produce, and ship our books and gear. As of now, we’ve been notified that production is operational and orders are being shipped. Unsurprisingly at this point, that may change! Shipping will very likely be delayed or disrupted due to protective measures around COVID-19. We’ll keep you posted on any changes there, with details about specific carriers as info becomes available.
As always, all of our books are available in digital formats—downloadable immediately after contact-free purchase. 🤓👍
Our Team
Our staff is almost completely freelance: customer advocates, editors, marketing and ops leads, project managers, web developers, and book producers. Everyone who works—and writes!—with us at ABA, does so in addition to juggling loads of things like family, working on other gigs, and running businesses.
Everything and everyone is being impacted in some way right now, and we’re all trying our best to stay connected. The other night, our marketing specialist, Brittany Clark, taught a virtual yoga class to her nieces and nephews (and her own kids at home)! Our managing editor, Lisa Maria Marquis, and CEO Katel LeDu, sat in on a super lovely knit night over Zoom earlier in the week. Katel also cohosted a virtual Meetup with author Sara Wachter-Boettcher! We’re trying to take it one day, even one moment, at a time. We hope you’re finding ways to do that, too.
Our Partners
We partner with RedShelf, who’s always believed in the enormous impact digital course materials have on affordability, access, and outcomes in higher ed. As institutions across the country grapple with responses to COVID-19, RedShelf is providing free access to digital textbooks (to students from nonprofit, semester-based colleges and universities) through May 25th—with help from their publishing partners (like us)! Check out RedShelf Responds to learn more.

We’ll keep this post updated as things evolve. Stay healthy and safe—and thanks for your patience and support. 💙
